Wayne Chenery - a fisherman, a friend, and a gentleman

Reel Connections was a group born from necessity.  Members of the Brisbane Waters Fishing Society needed a safe space to find support, find someone to talk to and to feel connected.  Reel Connections now meets monthly.  Members gather to talk, eat and fish together.

Wayne attended the very first Reel Connections meet and greet back in June, 2024.  He attended his last in November, 2025.  He didn't miss many gatherings during that year and half.

Wayne loved fishing, he loved people and he loved socialising.  He suffered many health issues, including leukaemia.  Sadly, he lost his battle on 14th December, 2025.

Supporting the Leukaemia Foundations is our way of paying tribute to Wayne's memory.
