Together we will keep their star shining bright

Hello friends & family,

I am sharing this page with you in memory of Lynette Ruxton and her battle with the blood cancer Multiple Myeloma.

The family would like to take the opportunity to request those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Leukaemia Foundation in lieu of flowers. This is to support those affected right now by blood cancers and fund world changing research to help more people survive.

The family wishes to honour her memory by lighting the way for future Australians affected by blood cancer by supporting the work of the Leukaemia Foundation. A future where no lives are lost to blood cancer.

A donation in memory of Lyn means her legacy will have a lasting impact for years to come.

Her life will continue to help all Australians with blood cancer access the best treatments, care and support they need to survive, and thrive no matter their background or where they live. Her legacy will power ground-breaking research meaning fewer families will be going through what we are in the future.

Please help me honour her legacy by using the 'Donate' button. The more people who know about the Leukaemia Foundation's work, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends, family and colleagues.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. You will be giving an incredible gift of hope.

Thank you for your kind support

Westfields High School Reunion Committee Members And Friends

From all of us at the Westfield’s High School Reunion Committee Members and Friends. We were so sad to hear of Lyn’s passing. Lyn was part of our Westfields High School Reunion group. We all started as foundation members (including Lyn) in 1963 and even though there were approximately 200 plus initial students it was like one big family. Almost all kids new almost everyone - it was just like that. And Lyn was part of it all and School Captain in later years. Almost all of us are now aged 70-72 and we are well aware of the frailty of life as we moved into our formative years but nevertheless Lyn’s passing was a real shock to us all. We know that many of Lyn’s old school friends will remember Lyn with great fondness and her passing as a sober time of reflection and no doubt sadness. May Lyn’s family find great comfort in each other and no doubt many good memories to reflect on at such a difficult and sad time.

Our deepest sympathy to all the family. We have fond memories of Lyn and her family while we attended Fairfield Baptist Church. Even when it's sad to learn about her untimely passing, we know of her strong faith in Jesus with whom she is now resting.

Lyn's Wetherill Park Tafe Family

3 years ago, Lyn walked into Wetherill Park TAFE, seemingly terrified but there was a very warm, helpful, witty, confident lady inside who came to be like a mum to every staff member in the ESOL section of Wetherill Park TAFE. We were blessed to have Lyn who would drop everything she was doing to help with any request, be it a student who could barely speak English, or a staff member. She was extremely patient and tolerant. She'd take the time to respond to the 51st query even though she was ready to go home at the 50th request. We, without a doubt, have lost a beautiful soul from Wetherill Park TAFE. We will miss that smile, that support in keeping the section a second family to all and that kindness in all her actions! But Lyn, we know you are without the pain now and that will comfort the staff while anecdotes of all your witty comments are shared. Rest in peace Lyn.

Sorry to hear the passing of your beautiful mum. I have very fond memories of her, in particular Lyn sewing my year 10 formal dress. My love to you all at this time. Sorry I cannot be there.

Children’s Education And Care Çampbelltown Tafe

Lyn as we affectionately called Lynette was the person that the students and teachers went to for help or information, a kind word and a laugh. Lyn was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, always willing to help, say a kind word, even say a prayer. Even though Lyn had moved onto Weatherill Park TAFE to a new section, we still stayed in touch. Any opportunity to go to our favourite Chinese restaurant and have the Honey Pepper Fillet Steak was always met with an enthusiastic YES! Lyn will be very sadly missed by her friends at Çampbelltown.

Robert Burgin

Amanda, you do not know me but Lyn and I have been close as friends and colleagues and share personal and friendly talks, tea time and work-related times. I will remember her fondly and she is in my prayers. I am most regretful that I missed her when she came to the office and came to see me and I was away at the time. I know this is a most difficult time for you and the family. Time will heal and she is now with God. Rest in peace dear Lyn.

My mother was one of the most incredibly amazing people in life. Mum never had a selfish day or thought ever. She gave to anybody and everybody that needed it and deserves so much more. Mum went to heaven today and I am truly heart broken. Our lives have always existed and revolved together as one. My life and family will never be the same without her with us. I have to find out how my life works without her. This is the hardest day of my life so far but I know that mum gave us the tools to survive. We love you and already miss you with all our hearts💜

Junior And Sarah

We will always miss and cherish your beautiful, kind and loving soul. There honestly was not a bad bone in your body. We will miss everything from the small little everyday things we were lucky enough to experience to your weird eccentric quirks that everyone loved. We will forever love and cherish all the beautiful memories and moments of life we got to share together, just know we will always love and remember everything you were and everything you stand for xx
