Together we will keep my dad's star shining bright

Hello family and friends,

My name is Taya Heinrich, and I've created this page to tell you my family's story and to shine light on blood cancer in memory of a very special loved one.

This page is in honour and memory of the man I called not just my Dad but my role model, my best friend and my hero, Damien Heinrich.

My Dad had Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He suffered a long 4-year battle that was emotionally difficult and confronting for my family. On the 21st of December, 2018 we said goodbye to not only our father but one of our biggest supporters. He lived a happy life, where he never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face. He continued to smile through the tough times to ensure that we made memories that will last a lifetime. My Dad had many passions and hobbies in his life, he loved the game of basketball where we grew up alongside him following in his footsteps. His legacy still remains present as my family still has the love for the game.

We called the Bridgestone Leukaemia Foundation our home for 5 months where they were able to shine light in our direction through providing accommodation, transport and activities for our family, to create everlasting memories. Thank you just didn’t seem enough, so in memory of my dad and to honour all the people we know who have been affected by blood cancer, lost their battle or are still fighting, I hope to light the path for families and individuals for years to come.

Please, if you can, click on the ‘Donate’ button and share this tribute page with your family, friends and colleagues, so that we can make a difference.  Over the last 5 years I have been raising funds on my own by creating dog toys and selling them at markets. Along with my Mum's support we are starting off this page with a $500 donation, to recognise 5 years of life without our Dad.

Thank you for honouring the memory of our adored Dad. The road to where we are hasn't been easy, however, the support and love my family has received throughout these past years means the world to Blake, Tye and I.

We miss you Dad. But Mum continues to raise us in a way that we know would make you proud ❤️

Thank you for your kind support
